Bharti Airtel recently launched a prepaid recharge pack at Rs. 249. Under its recharge pack of Rs. 249, Bharti Airtel offers 2 GBs or gigabytes of mobile data per day, among other benefits, according to the telecom company’s website – airtel.in. The latest offer from Bharti Airtel comes at a time of high competition marked by aggressive pricing of high speed data by telecom companies, say analysts. Rival telecom companies Reliance Jio, part of Reliance Industries, and Vodafone India, the Indian arm of British telecom company Vodafone, also offer similar recharge packs that offer at least 2 GB/day data, among other benefits, for 28 days.

Airtel’s new Rs. 249 recharge pack
Bharti Airtel – which provides telecom services under brand Airtel – offers 2 GB data per day at 3G/4G speed in its recharge pack of Rs. 249. Among other benefits, Airtel’s Rs. 249 recharge pack comes with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for the validity period of 28 days. Free voice calls along with this pack include local, STD and roaming calls within the country, according to the Airtel website.
Reliance Jio Rs. 198 recharge pack
Reliance Jio, which provides telecom services under brand Jio, offers 2 GB of high speed data per day, among other benefits, for the validity period under its recharge pack priced at Rs. 198. Subscribers exhausting the limit of high speed data in a day during the validity period continue to receive mobile data at a revised speed of 64 Kbps, according to the telecom company’s website – jio.com. Among other benefits, subscribers get free voice calls – including local, STD and roaming – and 100 SMS per day for the validity period of 28 days. Reliance Jio subscribers also get complimentary subscription to Jio apps along with this recharge, according to the Jio website.
Vodafone Rs. 348 recharge pack
Vodafone India offers a recharge pack priced at Rs. 348.
Under this pack, the telecom company offers 2.5 GBs of data per day at 3G/4G speed, free local/STD/roaming calls within the country and 100 SMS per day for the validity period of 28 days, according to the telecom company’s website – vodafone.in.
As of January 31, 2018, private access service providers held a 90.3 per cent market share of wireless subscribers, data from telecom regulator TRAI showed.
