Twitter is doubling down on live-streaming content, this time focusing on business news. The social company has just partnered with news startup Cheddar to stream live content online about tech and finance. The programs will be aimed at a millennial audience, and is surely meant to extend Twitter’s value beyond the timeline.

As part of the new partnership, Cheddar, which produces video content about business, will broadcast two new shows for digital audiences. The first, “Opening Bell,” will air live on Cheddar.com from 9AM to 10:30AM ET, and will offer breaking news, interviews, and profiles of business leaders. The second, “Closing Bell,” will air exclusively on Twitter and will feature end-of-day market analysis and in-depth reports.

“Giving people on Twitter another way to watch the day’s top stories”

“Twitter is the fastest way to find out what’s happening in the world, and to engage in the live conversation about it,” said Twitter CFO Anthony Noto in a statement. “Partnering with Cheddar will give people on Twitter another way to watch and discuss the day’s top stories as they unfold live all on one platform.”

This is, of course, only the latest in Twitter’s ongoing push into streaming content. The company inked a deal with the NFL earlier this year to stream 10 Thursday night games this season. Later, it partnered with the NBA to create two original programs to stream online, including a weekly pregame show. All these efforts show Twitter working to create new revenue streams and attract new users to its service, all in the hope that it stays competitive with Facebook.
